HUNDREDS of trout drowned in the River Ribble - victims of the sizzling summer heatwave.
But experts said it was an annual natural disaster and there was no danger of the fish being wiped out.
The alarm was raised by a Blackburn couple, Jim and Jean Park, of Ramsgreave Road, who spotted dead fish floating in the water near Dinckley Bridge.
