SIX cases of expensive wine bought for a millennium party were stolen during a raid on a vehicle dismantlers yard.
Ian Dearden, the owner of Walsh and Dearden, Sough Road, Darwen, is offering a £500 reward for the return of the haul which included some valuable diving equipment and a van.
He said: "I bought the wine about four years ago and was saving it for the millennium celebrations. The way things are looking now it may have to be a temperance do!"
The break-in happened overnight on Friday. A blue Leyland 400 Sherpa van, registration J281 CYR, was also taken.
The stolen wine includes bottles of red 1992 Aloxe Corton, red 1990 Bahans Haut Brion, red 1993 Chateau Beau Castel, white Puligeney Montra Curt, red 1988 Calon Segur and a bottle of 1969 Cossart Gordon Mederia wine.
