COUNCILLORS spent almost two hours arguing over who should sit on outside groups such as Earby and Salterforth Internal Drainage Board and the Forum on Health and Well Being for Lancashire.
Members of Pendle Council ploughed through 16 pages listing the various groups, schools and other organisations during the authority's annual meeting.
Councillors debated at least one appointment on almost every page with Labour and the Conservatives joining together several times to push through their nominees to the chagrin of the Liberals.
Representatives to bodies such as the National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection, the Reuben Burton Educational Foundation and Earby and Kelbrook Old People's Welfare Committee were agreed before councillors went on to tackle subjects such as crumbling roads and the introduction of CCTV security cameras.
