I AGREE with Brian Kidd's sentiment that the Premiership is the place to be, but for the moment that is not possible.
Maybe it is time for Rovers to go back to their roots and rediscover their values.
My mind goes back to that tremendous 1987-88 season when they put together a magnificent 23-game unbeaten run and got into the play-offs.
We didn't have much money to play with in those days, and only two or three of those players would have made it in the First Division, but they overcame these disadvantages through commitment, pride and a willingness to graft for each other and the club.
We will need that spirit next season. If the team wilts in a 10-game end-of-season dogfight, they should remember that the First Division is a 46-game dogfight, with the big prize being Premiership status.
