UNCLE Jack's the giant-killers! The Lower Darwen side - with a dash of Hoddlesden - gave Darwen League champions Cemetery A a bloody nose in the knockout with a 5-2 win.
Barry Barker, Phil Whipp, Paul Merryman and Sean Hilliard won their frames, and then Whipp and Hilliard turned out for the doubles and had Gaz Hampson and Walt Jarvis propping up the wall and polishing their cues while they polished off the frame in quick style.
Alexandra B surprised an under-strength Punch with a 4-3 win and Top Con B beat their C team 6-1.
Ian Harle (Punch) is through to the individual final after a 3-1 win over Paul Slater (Borough). He will play Justin Astley (Punch) who beat Ian Cordingley (Cemetery) 3-1. The pairs final will be between Astley and Dave Houghton and Andy Maudsley and Harold Heys (Cemetery).
Cemetery A got back in the swing last night with a 6-1 away victory at Top Con C.
Tonight: Top Con A v Anchor, Uncle Jack's v Top Con B, Alexandra A v Punch, Prince v Borough and Mill Gap v Alexandra B. Open date: Cemetery B.
