WHAT do you do during the summer holidays where you live? Do you have great ideas or hobbies, games or holiday activities?
Our latest competition to support the National Year of Reading, calls on junior journalists to submit articles for publication in special NIE summer pages and on our web-site.
If you are between the ages of eight and 16, why not write an article telling how young people themselves without leaving East Lancashire?
We are offering prizes of fabulous books, including "200 Bordom Busters," "Changing Your Room," and "Great Art Attack Stuff," all from publisher Dorling Kindersley, for the best entries.
Make your article around 200 to 300 words long and try to write in an interesting journalistic style. You may need to do some research into leisure centres and holiday activity schemes, but don't forget to tell us about simple things you can do at home with family or friends.
Check all your facts carefully, then neatly write or type your piece including your name, age, home or school address and, if possible a telephone number. Send to NIE Competitions, Lancashire Evening Telegraph, High Street, Blackburn, BB1 1HT, to reach us by June 21.
