I DON'T understand why the only safety advice that seems to be given to cyclists is that they need to wear helmets because inconsiderate motorists may knock them off their bikes.
But there is often fault on both sides - when you see cyclists riding without lights.
So when people talk to them about safety, they should point out the main thing and the obvious - get some lights on and be seen!
