ST ANNES IV - hugely depleted by shortages throughout the club - turned to a mixture of parent power and junior grit to earn a superb win in Fylde League division 2 against Wyre.
Ian McCabe, father of hat-tricks hero Paul and former first team strike bowler, took 5-28 in a magnificent unbroken spell of 18 overs.
His old partner Nigel Connolly fully earned his 3-29 and Mick Auty was unplayable with 2-5, as Wyre finished on 67.
When batting, St Annes looked in trouble until Mike Kelliher, father of Jack, blasted a quick-fire 18 and with six needed to win young Richard Baldwin kept calm and showed good technique to knock off the runs himself, as St Annes reached 68-8.
