ANTON Rogan, released at the end of the season by Blackpool, could well be on his way back to the club.

The injury-prone defender struggled to make it into Pool's first team but impressed towards the end of the season with some fine defensive displays.

Manager Nigel Worthington has revealed that the decision to let Rogan go was a hard one - but there may be a way for him to return to the club.

He has been invited back to train with the Tangerines before next season with a view to signing a short-term contract.

24-year-old defender Marvin Bryan is still stalling over his contract.

Technically a free agent, Bryan may start next season on a week-to-week basis if he doesn't accept the terms offered to him.

He was offered a new contract half way through the season but refused to sign it.

The offer was withdrawn by the club but it is now back on offer to him.

If another club takes Bryan on, Blackpool will receive a fee for him.

Blackpool completed the signing of veteran defender Paul Beesley from Port Vale last week.

With experience at the highest level with Manchester City and Sheffield Wednesday, Beesley will be a worthy addition to the back line and, hopefully, be well able to fill the gap left by Tony Butler.

With Beesley and David Bardsley at the back, the Seasiders can boast experienced defenders to play alongside rising stars such as Clark Carlisle.

But the search for a striker continues ...
