PARR High School produced a great effort to win the St Helens Schools Rounders Tournament.
They defeated St Cuthberts 2-2 in the semi-final before beating St Aelreds 2-0 in the final.
Earlier St Aelreds had beaten Edmund Arrowsmith 2-1 in the semi-final.
Teams taking part included St Aelreds, Cowley, De La Salle, Edmund Arrowsmith, Rainford High and St Cuthberts.
The tournament administrator was Rainhill's Julie Fraser and she was assisted by her team-mate and Cowley High's Rachel Smith.
Julie Fraser commented: "After last year's poor turnout, it was pleasing to see so many teams taking part.
"And as a result of the tournament, several girls have been asked to attend trials for the under 21 St Helens team.
"I was also pleased to see that, due to the effort of the teachers involved, the standard of rounders was high and the gulf between school and the adult game has narrowed."
