Preston 142-9 Lancaster 144-5 LANCASTER had a comfortable five wickets victory over Preston at South Meadow Lane.
Put in to bat by David Heywood, Lancaster had Preston reeling at 16 for 3.
The Preston captain and professional Manoh Parekh and Ben Harrison stopped the rot with a 50 runs partnership for the fourth wicket, before the latter was lbw to Phil Dennison for 18.
Parekh and Glen Johnstone added 4 runs for the fifth wicket before the latter was caught behind by Brendan Hetherington off David Jolleys for 18.
Manoh Parekh was caught by Lee Marshall off David Jolleys for 64, leaving Preston on 125-6.
The Preston innings ended on 142-9, with David Jolleys bowling half the overs and taking 5 for 53.
Graham Barnes assisted him by taking 3-38.
In reply, Lancaster lost opener Phil Dewison without a run on the board.
Luke Phillips was next out with the score on 21 for 11, caught by Glen Johnstone off Iqbal Lilley.
Raj Hans and Dave Heywood featured in a 63 runs partnership for the third wicket before the latter was lbw to Kaye for 29.
Raj Hans perished after making 38 but Brian Phillips and Lee Marshall saw Lancaster though to victory.
They finished unbeaten with 24 and 17 respectively.
