FUMING Lancashire Lynx boss Steve Hampson wants his players to sit through a video of their weekend defeat by Batley Bulldogs.

A ninth successive defeat for Lynx has left the coach fretting and wondering just where the problem is.

He is hoping his players may have the answer. Hampson already has some ideas as to where the team slipped up. According to the boss, it may be down to a lack of something called concentration.

He said: "We have got to concentrate for the full 80 minutes and we didn't do that on Sunday.

"Those lapses in concentration cost us the game in the end.

"We kept giving up tries on the sixth tackle and that really hurts.

"We'd come back into the match then let ourselves down.

"They put in a high kick, Doc Murray came to collect but he was impeded by Danny Jones.

"The ball went loose and they scored the try which really set us back. You could see the heads going down."

But despite the disappointment of losing, Hampson was looking on the bright side.

He said: "I thought there were some encouraging signs and the final scoreline certainly did not do us justice.

"Neil Alexander is improving with every game and to score four tries is a great performance.

"It is just a case that perhaps some were let down by their team mates."

Next on the list is a trip to Hull Kingston Rovers.

Hooker John Donno and Steve Gee could both be back for the cross-country excursion. And don't rule out a couple of new players in the squad.

Ex-Leigh centre Jimmy Veikoso, currently playing in France, could be on his way to Victory Park if Lynx can finance the deal.

But Kyle White could be missing for quite some time after returning to his native Australia to recover from an injury. He has also recently married.

Hampson added: "I never expected it to be as tough in this league but the injuries have really done us in.

"Last season, we had a consistent squad all the way through but that just hasn't been an option this year. And it always takes time for new players to settle."
