CHILDREN at Hornby School are to take the scenic route to lessons - and a continental breakfast will be awaiting them when they get there.
They will walk through woodland to reach school, where fruit juice and croissants will be waiting.
Hornby children have been meeting up to walk to school, chaperoned by parents, for several weeks now and the woodland walk will take place on Friday, May 28
The walks are part of a health authority initiative, "Partners in Health", to promote walking as a healthy alternative to travelling by car.
School Governor Julie Armitage said: "The children seem to enjoy walking to school, although there is quite a bit of organisation involved in ensuring that there are enough parents to cover."
And one pupil added: "We enjoy walking to school, but the walk home is much more popular!"
