A MAN faced an agonising two-day wait after thieves took his car containing his father's ashes.
Peter Anthony Matthews (25) of Eastfields, Radcliffe, appealed on local radio for the return of the ashes, which were in the red Honda Accord saloon, taken form Chester Street, Prestwich, on Saturday.
Following an anonymous tip-off, police found the car abandoned in Edward Street, Prestwich, on Monday - with the urn still inside.
