MEMBERS of St Helens Soroptimists International let their knitting needles do the talking when they answered a plea by Children's Aid Direct for blankets to send out to Kosovan refugees.

The Soroptimists enlisted friends, family and business associates to help them knit almost 1,000 squares which were then sewn together to make 20 blankets which will now be sent over to the refugees.
