BURY has one entry in a new guide to farmland walks published this week.

The walks are part of more than 1,500 throughout the country giving access to normally enclosed farmland for which farmers are paid by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Bury walk is at Leaches Cocks House Farm near Birtle.

The guide details county by county registers covering the whole country and gives details of where to find each walk and lists important details such car parking, picnic areas and areas for the disabled.

A copy of the local guide will soon be available to study at Bury Library, tourist information centres and council countryside and highways departments as well as on the internet at:
