TUESDAY evenings over the summer in Blackburn will be marked with a touch of culture with a series of special events.
First Tuesdays is a celebration of the town's cultural heritage and various activities have been scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month between June and September.
The opening session includes the launch of the New Audiences exhibition at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery involving the work of young Asian people.
And the Lewis Textile Museum will also open for the first time since it was re-designed and improved. Artist Helen Johnson, who specialises in calligraphy and book binding will talk about her work.
At Blackburn Central Library, the Storytellers lecture theatre company will present Hansel and Gretel, starting at 5.30pm in the Hornby Lecture Theatre, while pianist and singer Keith Harrison will play at Blakey's Cafe Bar.
There will be a variety of street entertainment in the town centre to amuse people of all ages. All activities take place between 5pm and 8pm.
