THE constituents of Netherton Ward in Great Harwood, are now realising the enormity of their error when they went to the polls on May 6.
The electorate were led, like lambs to the slaughter, by a candidate in the guise of an "independent with no affinity to any political party" who, unfortunately for us, turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing.
What an intriguing board game this would make. It would beat Monopoly hands down.
No doubt we will pay a heavy price for our naM- vety and vulnerability, unless, of course, power becomes self-destructive.
MARLENE HADCROFT (Mrs), Netherton House, Clayton Street, Great Harwood.
