ANDREW Bentley from Mount Carmel High School, Accrington, has been picked in a 13-strong Lancashire Under 15s squad for their annual tour to the South West this week.

The young all-rounder represented Lancashire at Under 14s level last season and he has impressed the county selectors again during early season trials.

Bentley hit 165 runs last year at an average of 27.5, but he wasn't called upon to bowl in any county match.

Lancashire began their week with a match against Cornwall yesterday and they were taking on Cornwall Under-16s at St Austell CC today.

Somerset provide the opposition at Taunton School tomorrow and Lancashire will meet Hampshire at Tidworth CC on Thursday.

The Red Rose Colts complete their hectic tour with a match against Gloucestershire at Bourton Vale CC on Friday.

The full Lancashire Under 15s squad is: Graham Barry (Liverpool), Andrew Bentley (Accrington), Simon Bux (Rochdale), Gareth Cross (Salford), Chris Glover (Lancaster), Nigel Hallam (Bolton), William Halton (Bolton), Nathon Hopper (Sefton), Byron Hughes (Lancaster), Steven Lane (Rochdale), Adam Parker (Blackpool), Zac Taylor (Blackpool), John Wildman (Liverpool).
