GENERAL screening on cholesterol could do more harm than good, health chiefs warned.
A report to East Lancashire Health Authority said screening across the area may provoke anxiety and lead to over-investigation and potentially harmful treatment.
Instead, a screening policy should target only people at high risk from heart disease.
