HOTSHOTS finished the season in the style they have played for most of it in A Division.
Both Steven Riddiough and Matthew Hamer won all their games against Ozzy Hardcores to take a maximum five points. They finished 12 points ahead of their nearest rivals to win the League for the second year running. Steven finished unbeaten and remains favourite to win the Merit Competition next week.
Rishton Rovers also played Hardcores and punished them likewise. Ian Whalley and Simon Walsh won all their matches, including the doubles, in straight games. A further five points against Scretnins ensured them the runners-up spot. Ian moved up to fourth and Simon sixth in the Merit Table.
Hardcores played a third match against Arsenal Haters and were beaten yet again to complete a miserable end to their season. At least this time Daniel Gorton gained them a point with a win over Imran Hussain. However, it was Arsenal's Saqib Mehrban who won twice to pick up the player of the match award in his team's 4-1 victory.
Arsenal Haters also played the Unbeatables, but this time were defeated. Demha Ahmed and Simon McNamara won one each, but Saqib again won twice to level the scores and be player of the match. However, Unbeatables took the doubles to win the contest 3-2. Despite the defeat, Saqib lifted his team into fourth place and finished third in the Merit Table.
Unbeatables had a further match against Rishton Rebels. Adam Hek scored Rebel's only point in what turned into an Unbeatables 4-1 victory. Despite two wins Unbeatables didn't gain enough points to grab the runners-up spot and finished in third place.
In B Division, the A team had two 5-0 victories over Ping and Pong and CSB who failed to show. They finished 15 points clear as Division B champions. CSB were already assured of second place so their lack of an appearance changed little. Tigers had a roaring end to the season with victories over the absent CSB and a 4-1 triumph over Prop Ups. Liam Brown gained the only point for Props and Gary Blackburn was player of the match for Tigers. Gary has been a revelation for Tigers and helped lift them into third place in the table. Still undefeated he will be included in next week's Merit Competition.
Double H had a good win over Smash and Thrash. Nick Hallsworth and Sam Foster won one each for H&H but Jake Bolton won twice to draw level and be player of the match. H&H took the doubles to win the tie 3-2.
