CELEBRATIONS promise to be even bigger and better when the King Cotton Carnival returns to Burnley for its third year.
A new futuristic theme for 1999 has led to exciting developments, with local groups looking ahead to what is in store in the next millennium, on Saturday, June 12.
With a selection of unusual characters, from futuristic robotic towns folk moving on rollerblades to space aliens and more than 100 activities on offer, it is the biggest carnival so far.
A procession will leave the Inn on the Wharf at 1pm and head towards the Thompson Centre, via the town centre. All events are free and begin at 10am.
