TOP COACH - that's Parkside Golborne's Jeffrey Ashton, named Coach of the Year in the NorthWest Counties ARL.
But the team just missed out on the silverware.
They lost to Orrell St James in the Lancashire Cup Final and were pipped to the Division One title by Roose Pioneers, both teams winning 14 of their 18 games, the champs also earning a draw.
In the same league Leigh MR garnered 15 points from seven wins and a draw.
Hindley ended fourth bottom of Division Two, scoring eight wins and two draws, while Leigh Harriers were mid-table in Division Four (10 wins, one draw).
Great cheers in Division Five where Leigh Royal Oak were deserved champions, winning 17 and drawing one of their 20 matches to finish five points clear of Blackpool Scorpions.
A point further back were third-placed Culcheth Daten (14 wins, one draw).
Leigh East won six of their 20-game season in Division 6A, while, in the Alliance, mid-table Leigh MR scored 13 wins and Parkside Golborne scored nine.
On the downside local sides were involved in FIFTEEN failed fixtures, one by Leigh MR in Division One, five by Leigh East in Division 6A, and eight by Leigh MR and one by Golborne Parkside, both in the Alliance.
