LEIGH's Grasmere Street health centre is a shining example for others to follow.
The NHS Beacon award of £4,000 has been given to the centre for the excellence of its family doctor Primary Care service.
Announcing the award Health Minister John Denham said: "The NHS Beacon Services Programme celebrates success and spreads best practice.
"Beacons are about making a real difference to patients in the NHS and the best of the best in the Health Service can provide examples to the rest."
