CORRECT! this thick, politically incorrect, fat, auld Scotsman does not understand the subtle and complex issues raised by Hilton Dawson. I have read and re-read his letter of May 27 and still think the same as I did the week before.
If race, culture and history can make some people particularly vulnerable they should not stand for public office.
Was it Harry S Trueman who said: "When the buck stops, the buck stops here."
Stan Henig, however, seemed to be better at passing the buck. He should have taken up rugby instead of politics.
Hilton then quotes the MacPherson report about racism after the Stephen Lawrence murder. MacPherson says that racism is a matter of subjective judgement. So when I am told to clear off back over the wall do I have to look at it subjectively or treat it with the contempt it deserves.
Come on Hilton, get a life, and start to do the job you are paid to do. Sort out the mess social services have made of care in the community for senior citizens, old folks' homes, children's homes, fire service, get a bypass and bringing jobs to the area instead of defending your old cronies.
And remember that in two years a vote for Labour will be a vote for Dawson.
