A POPULAR TV personality was the guest of honour at a lunch to raise cash for children with cancer.
Jean Fergusson, Marina from 'Last of the Summer Wine,' was the guest speaker at the event, hosted by the Ribble Valley Ladies' Luncheon Club.
The club holds quarterly fund-raising luncheons at the Stirk House Hotel, Gisburn. So far this year it has raised £17,000 for the Cancer Research Campaign for its work with children.
Also in attendance was Lady Waddington, president of the club and chairman of the North West branch of the campaign.
About 185 people attended and £2,700 was raised from ticket sales, a raffle and an auction of tabletop flowers. The luncheons attract top speakers and a prize is awarded for the best hat.
Further details of membership of the Ribble Valley Ladies' Luncheon Club are available from Karen Weaving, on 01200 445581.
