I HAVE lived in this area for more than 20 years and, until recently, I walked in the park on Ainsworth Road every day. But not any more!
The park has become a meeting place for under-age drinkers. There can be as many as 50-60 youths between the ages of 12-16 years. The park is littered with broken glass, empty beer cans and plastic bags.
Can the police or the council not do anything about this problem? Can the shops who are selling the alcohol to these youths not be prosecuted? Also, what must the parents of these teenagers be thinking about, letting their children drink alcohol and stay out until midnight.
I only hope that someone in charge of the park reads this letter.
CONCERNED,
Elton, Bury.
