TO the readers of the Citizen and other residents of the Fylde - this is a warning to you over the Euro referendum and vote.
In the Mirror newspaper the other day Tony Blair stated that Britain will join the single currency and he declared war on his critics.
When we elected the new government, Labour promised us a referendum and that the people would vote to decide on the Euro issue.
Are you proud to be British? I am and a lot of my friends are, but if Blair, Brown and Prescott get their way we will be sold down the river.
They cannot be trusted, they are not Labour people - more like Tories calling themselves Labour MPs.
Blair and co will do their utmost to get away without giving us the vote.
I want to keep the pound. I am proud of my heritage. We will still trade with the Euro countries even if we stay apart from Europe.
It is the big businesses who want the Euro, they hope to make enormous profits if they join.
So please write to your Labour MP and demand the vote now.
If you fail to do so, don't complain if Blair accepts the Euro currency.
Let's do the decent thing and keep the pound and our own way of living.
Mr A Alman,
Kirkstone Drive,
Thornton Cleveleys.
