SIX teenagers are flying the flag for Blackpool when they travel to a youth conference in Europe.
Bryan Hall, Wezley Irwin, Nicola Holt, Keith Munnery, Nousheen Ahmed and Corinna Keelan will spend a week in the resort's twin town of Bottrop from June 7.
They have the onerous task of representing the thoughts of Britain's youth on work prospects, culture, even having a say about the Euro currency.
Seventy youngsters will represent eight different countries at the conference which has a main theme of Euro-perspektakel. This roughly translates as a spectacular European perspective and delegates will be encouraged to develop ideas on the topic through the use of music, dance, drama and photography.
They will also get to explore the finer points of Bottrop, including Warner Brother's Movie World.
Blackpool's youth and community chairman Allan Matthews will join up with the British contingent for the conference's finale.
"This is a major European conference and I am delighted that young people from Blackpool will be representing the interests of Britain's youth to an international audience," he said.
Buzz Bury, a youth and community worker who will also be attending added: "This is a fantastic opportunity for these young people and a wonderful chance for them to show off their creative skills."
