THE ARMY Cadet Force in the Lancaster district has become so popular with local youngsters that two new detachments have been opened.
The new detachments have been opened at Hornby and Galgate and numbers at the other detachments are on the up.
The increase in numbers means that more adults are needed to help work with the 13 to 16 year olds.
No previous experience is required, only an interest in young people, a desire to learn new skills and a sense of adventure.
Activities include first aid, map and compass work, target shooting, abseiling and canoeing.
If you want to know more about becoming an adult helper call Major Janet Theobald on 34810.
