THE Bury Times Group is to have a new home for the 21st century.
Planning chiefs have given the green light to the creation of a new state-of-the-art headquarters on the group's adjoining car park in Market Street.
The site has been earmarked for a three-storey building which will include a ground-floor reception area with disabled access and a toilet for visitors. The remainder of the building will be made up of office space for 75-strong workforce.
Mr Jim Metcalf, borough planning officer, said: "The site is restricted but the architect has made good use of the area available with a high quality building and careful attention to detail.
"The building is close to the Interchange and well sited for public transport. It will complement the new Bury College building and will be an attractive feature on a prominent site."
Work on the new HQ will begin in July with completion expected by next spring.
