A 53-year-old woman was pulled to the ground when a thief snatched her carrier bag at a Metrolink station.
Now, police are anxious to talk to anyone who witnessed the incident at Besses o' th' Barn.
Police say the woman was on her own on a platform when a man, wearing ill-fitting clothes, approached her. He suddenly made a grab for her bag and she fell to the ground during a struggle.
The thug made off with the bag, spectacles, cash and other contents worth £140.
The thief was aged 25-28, 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build with short, black, greasy hair, an unshaven, oval face and small eyes.
He was wearing a black three-quarter length anorak, with two big pockets at the front, and baggy trousers. Both the jacket and trousers appeared too big for him.
Police say the robber was also wearing canvas shoes and had a scruffy, dirty appearance.
