STAFF at an off-licence were forced to open the shop till after being threatened by a man wielding a crowbar.
Two young men walked into the Nevins store in Cambridge Road, St Helens, just before 10pm on Wednesday, May 26. One of them stood in the shop doorway, while the other walked over to the counter and threatened staff with a crowbar. He forced the assistants to open the till drawer and then the two men escaped with a small amount of cash.
The robber with the crowbar is described as white, 5ft 5in to 5ft 8in tall, with an average build, a chubby face and aged between 16 and 18 years. He was wearing a black bob hat, a dark jacket made of silky material and dark trousers, and spoke with a local accent.
The other is described as white, 5ft 5in, with a slim build, a gaunt face and sunken cheeks, dark hair and aged 16 to 20 years. He was wearing a black baseball cap and a dark cagoule.
