GOLBORNE swept to the top of the Vimto Bolton Association as Astley & Tyldesley took their eye off the ball.
They were all out for 112, never able to cope with the likes of Ian Critchley (3-25) and Chris Benbow (3-23).
A weakened Golborne then had former Blackrod player Carl Hewitt - playing his first game for the club - to thank for victory as his unbeaten 52 was the foundation of their five wicket win.
Mind you he had the home team's fielders to thank.
They dropped him THREE times - the first before he had even scored.
Atherton fell to the guile of Andy Mawson, a player who does not play as often he would like.
The Little Hulton bowler almost single-handedly won the game as Atherton were skittled out for 112 with Mawson returning 3-8.
He then opened for Little Hulton and in just 16 enterprising overs helped rattle off the total for the loss of two wickets. He ended unbeaten on 71 and was given entertaining support by Mark Lee who blasted a quickfire 32.
