SOCCER star Philip Neville and his Rossendale fiance Julie Killelea were caught up in a mid-air drama when they returned from their summer holiday.
Treble winning Philip and Julie, from Chapel Hill, Rawtenstall, were flying home from Marbella in Spain when their jet started to experience problems.
An engine failure meant it had to be diverted to Madrid to land. It is believed the couple were on a British Airways jet. They were flown home on another plane.
Passengers claimed they saw flames coming from an engine and talked of panic on board the plane.
The couple made it safely home and Philip was at a community event at St James the Less Church in Rawtenstall yesterday.
Julie and the Manchester United star to marry at the church later this year.
