BUSINESSES have been urged to take a leaf out of students' books.
The Young Enterprise initiative run in schools across East Lancashire bodes well for the future of entrepreneurs in the area, according to ELTEC organisational development director Paul Heald.
"I'm astounded and very excited by the creativity and business acumen being stimulated within young people who are tomorrow's managers and entrepreneurs," said Paul, one of the judges at this year's East Lancashire competition final.
"Entrepreneurship needs to be encouraged at the very earliest stages. This competition shows the tremendous enthusiasm and determination that students can apply to essential business disciplines."
And he said some of the young people involved could "teach us all a lesson about running a successful business."
"Somewhere between the ages of 17 and 25 this entrepreneurship can be stifled but it is vital that we continue to encourage new ideas," added Paul.
