DAVID Manasseh, of Stellar Promotions, which handles the affairs of Kevin Davies, talks (LET, June 10) about Davies not being happy at Blackburn and seems to expect sympathy for him.
Well, I am sorry, but I, for one, feel that Davies is lucky to be here, being paid the amount of money he gets for doing very little so far.
Yes, he has had health problems, but why have they not been sorted out yet? I think Blackburn fans have been very patient and it is now time for Davies to repay them and the club by coming out and showing us he is worth what we paid - getting the ball in the back of the net and fighting to get us back into the Premier League where we belong.
Then, he will love being at Blackburn because the fans will sing his name with pride. So, come on Davies, stop feeling sorry for yourself lad. It was Blackburn Rovers who made a star out of Alan Shearer - who has never been quite the same since he left, incidentally. Perhaps we can do the same for you if you meet us half way.
I would like to wish Brian Kidd and his squad and backroom boys all the luck in the world for the coming season. It will be a hard one, no doubt, because we are always going to be the team that everyone wants to beat.
It will be the true fans who are down at Ewood Park, week in week out, next season and I look forward to seeing them there.
The whingers can stop at home, they will probably all come out of the woodwork again when we come back up.
