SAFFIZZ did us proud last Friday at Royal Ascot, he ran into sixth place which gave us prize money, but money could not buy the terrific day out we all had.
The Elite boys from Earby and Barnoldswick brought some attention to themselves arriving in their stretched limo, they are now known as the Earby Sheiks.
Jimmy Fortune commented after the race that Saffizz found the ground a little too firm and wanting for another furlong, but he said he has a big heart.
Swan at Whalley is entered for the 9.25 at Hamilton tomorrow and if they don't have too much rain he will have a very good chance at a fair price. He looks a million dollars, I have never seen him looking so well. Uncle Exact, who belongs to the Good Hand Partnership operation from Uncle Jack's at Lower Darwen, have moved their two horses from Jack Berry to Kevin Ryan's stable and Uncle Exact runs in the Colonel GV Churton retirement novice stakes tomorrow at Chester. He has been galloping with Saffizz at home and must have a big chance on his first outing for Kevin Ryan. It turns out to be local pub horses to follow this week, on Wednesday the Pendle Inn's Desraya runs in the 2pm at Carlisle. Perhaps the bet for tomorrow should be Swan at Whalley, Desraya and Uncle Exact a 10 pence each-way round robin.
Jacques Reply, also from the Good Hand Partnership, should go close at Carlisle on Thursday.
On Thursday at Newcastle in the 4.20 Pigeon his turn is due and in these big sprints they all beat each other, this is caused by the handicapping, weight brings horses together.
At Newmarket on Friday Aunt Flo has been running well in good company and her turn to win will surely never be easier than here. On Saturday in the Fosters Lager Northumberland Plate, High and Mighty must have a big chance as the class horse in the race. Euro Venture of Dandy Nicholls should run a big race in the Tote Northern Sprint trophy at Newcastle also on Saturday.
Jimmy Fortune and Peter Chapple-Hyam are worth following for the next couple of weeks, the yard's horses are beginning to fire again. I have been told from inside the yard.
Have a good week.
