MICHAEL Hope, 21, of Ripon Street, Blackburn, was fined £30 with £50 costs by Blackburn magistrates after pleading guilty to being found drunk.

Paula Grogan, prosecuting, said police were called to a piece of land in Carluke Street, Blackburn, were they found Hope slumped in the corner of an area where children were playing.

"He was extremely drunk and his clothing was open so that his private parts were exposed," said Miss Grogan.

Debbie Jameson, defending, said Hope had little recollection of the incident although he did know he was was very drunk. "He had been out celebrating after his first week's work for some considerable time and for his trouble he has spent a weekend in the cells," said Mrs Jameson.
