A STREET collection in Clitheroe town centre raised £714.45 for the Red Cross.
The fund at the organisation's Ribble Valley centre to buy a defibrillator now stands at £2,700.
Organiser Jeff Entwistle said the centre was now just £300 short of its £3,000 target to buy the life-saving equipment.
He thanked everyone who contributed to the street collection and had supported the fund so far.
Further donations can be made at the Red Cross Centre, Back King Street, Clitheroe, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 10am to noon, when refreshments will be available.
