GARDENS enthusiasts can enjoy an open day with a difference and help to raise cash for a village's millennium project.
An open gardens day will be held in Newton and Slaidburn in the Hodder Valley from 10.30am to 6.30pm on July 11.
The event is being held to raise cash for a millennium project to plant 2,000 daffodils and commemorative trees in the two villages.
Millennium committee members in Newton also want to publish a book depicting the history of the village.
Several notable gardens will be included in the event.
A craft fair and exhibition by North West Water will run simultaneously in Newton Village Hall.
There will also be a raffle for top prizes and an activity clas for youngsters to make bird-boxes.
Admission is by programme available from the Tourist Information Centre, Market Place, Clitheroe (01200 425566) or pubs and shops in the Hodder Valley.
