GOOD luck to the hundreds of women who will be running the Race for Life at Witton Park Blackburn on Wednesday, June 30 in aid of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. The race starts at 7pm. Entry hotline is 0990-134314.

Race Three of Chorley AC's On the Run 5K Series is on Friday at 7pm from Astley Park, Chorley. Sunday's St Joseph's Tower Race starts from St Joseph's School, Limes Avenue, Darwen at 2.30pm and goes to Darwen Tower and back, a distance of just over two miles. The Woodend four-mile road race is on Wednesday at 7.30pm. It starts at the Ley Inn Pub, Back Lane, Clayton-le-Woods, Chorley.

Tony Bolton of Accrington RR has organised the Baxenden 5K trail race starting from Baxenden CE Primary School at 2pm on Saturday. There is also a one-mile fun run at 1.30pm.

You have time to pre-enter the Aggies Staircase fell race which is on Thursday July 1 at 7.15pm. Entries by June 26 get a free T-Shirt. Apply to Matt Donnelly, 33 Gillibrand Street, Darwen, Lancs BB3 1HA. Entry is £3.50. The four-mile race starts behind Darwen Leisure Centre.
