I REFER to the letter by councillors Nick Westwell and David Kerr concerning Do It All's planning application to sell animals. Contrary to their claim both Green Party councillors voted very clearly against the proposal (I should know I was one of them).
Also the proposal did not get through by one vote as stated. The vote was ten in favour, four against. I have confirmed this with the council's official recorder at the meeting. I hope that the Morecambe Bay Independents are a little more accurate with their sums when it comes to setting the budget!
Having said this, I support the general thrust of the letter from Cllrs Westwell and Kerr. If the Do It All proposal comes up before a full council meeting I, and I am sure my fellow Green councillors, will continue to speak and vote against it.
Cllr Jon Barry,
Lancaster Green Party
