GIVE us this day our daily spread! That's the message from 75 per cent of British households who buy marmalade.
The Citizen has teamed up with Duerr's to offer readers the chance to have breakfast on us and win six jars of marmalade, to celebrate the launch of Duerr's English Traditional Three Fruit Marmalade.
F Duerr and Sons are so practised in the art of manufacturing fine quality marmalade that they now produce 20 different varieties to meet the demand.
From humble beginnings in 1881, when a young Mary Duerr made jams and marmalades in her kitchen for her family to enjoy, the company's reputation for tasty breakfast treats has gone from strength to strength.
Mary's recipes have been passed down through generations of the Duerr family and are available today on supermarket shelves across the UK.
The company buys more than 1,500 tonnes of Seville oranges each year which, if placed end to end, would reach all the way from Manchester to Dover and back again! More than 400 jars are filled every minute and it takes 45 minutes for each orange to become a jar of Duerr's.
To enter the competition, simply answer the following questions:
How many Seville oranges does Duerr's purchase each year?
What is the name of Duerr's new recipe marmalade?
Send your answer on a postcard/sealed envelope to: Duerr's Competition, Citizen Newspapers, 3 Winckley Court, Winckley Square, Preston PR1 3JJ.
Winners must be able to collect their prize and the first correct entries drawn on Friday, July 2, will be notified of their win.
