MORECAMBRIANS will welcome 150 Kosovan refugees to the resort next week.
The refugees will be taken bowling at Morecambe Superbowl, Heysham Power station visitor centre and the Strawberry Gardens pub in Heysham on Monday, July 5. They are currently staying in Ulverston in Cumbria.
Organisers have launched an appeal for members of the public to bring in shoe boxes with toiletries and telephone cards after asking the refugees what they most needed.
Julie Allen-Reay at Morecambe Superbowl commented: "We really want to give these people who have been through so much a day to remember and a chance to forget their troubles. There is a telephone line now for Pristina and they all really want to call home.
"I just hope they leave knowing they are welcome."
Please contact Julie at Morecambe Superbowl, Kevin at Heysham power station visitor centre and Madeline or Trevor at the Strawberry Gardens to donate your phone cards and toiletries.
