SWIMMING: Pioneer '79 and Great Harwood met at Great Harwood pool to compete for the first time this year. The clubs had an exciting evening of competition in the Friendly League with Pioneer '79 eventually finishing in winners' position.
Outstanding Pioneer swims with personal best times went to the 10-year-old boys: Jamie Law (freestyle), Joseph Jackson (backstroke), Jack Walsh (breaststroke) and Andrew Leeson (butterfly).
The 10-year-old girls were represented by Sarah Shackleton swimming in the freestyle and backstroke, Rachel Braid, breaststroke and Abigail Catlow, butterfly.
The 12-year age-group won all their events. For the boys Ben Nichols (freestyle and backstroke), David Fairbrother (breaststroke) and Christopher Ashurst (butterfly). The 12 year old girls were represented by Eve Taylor (freestyle and breaststroke) and Louise Douglas (backstroke and butterfly).
Swimming in the B lane, Daniel Yates had an outstanding swim in the freestyle, as did Adele Forster, Clare Phillipson, Rebecca Taylor and Madelaine Fullalove in their individual events.
Completing the team were: Christopher Pratt Snr, Christopher Woods, Adam Douglas, Neal Douglas, Daley Anderson, Dominic O'Connor, Paul Burns, Oliver Brindle, Rebecca Stones, Sam Dunderdale, Jemima Rigby, Catherine Jackson, Alison Naylor, Joanne Pratt, Stephanie Abbott, Sara Mala, Shereen Mala and Jill Hebden.
