A SHORT note defending China Crisis (LET, June 16). Following an opening acoustic number, well received by a better than anticipated crowd, Eddie Lundon - one of the two prominent members of China Crisis - explained that Gary Daly (the other one) would be unable to perform the concert due to illness. To a man the audience remained.
My mate and I were unsure as to what to expect. However, the group showed their class and were as polished as you would expect of a group who have enjoyed so much success for so many years and have been around for two decades.
While David Haymes, in asking for a refund, may not have enjoyed the acoustic renditions of the many hits, to call the performance disappointing showed him up for what he is, a man wooden of ear.
