EACH day I have the pleasure in walking through Corporation Park, Blackburn with my dog. Almost every day, certainly each week, I see the trail of new damage done to the windows of the conservatory in the park. Today I counted 49 broken windows.
I estimate that over the period of a year that the cost of replacing these panes of glass must cost some £5,000 or more. This situation has gone on for the past five years to my knowledge. A bill to the taxpayers of £25,000.
At what point does this sort of mindless vandalism become a problem to the police? At what point will the parents of these macho yobs who cause the damage do something about the problem?
Answers on a postcard please, to Lancashire Constabulary, Blackburn.
