IN response to Mr M Taylor's letter (Letters. June 3), I feel it is important that I outline William Hague's approach to Europe. In tune with the majority of the British people the Conservative Party offers a sensible and balanced approach to our relations with the EU, that is based upon being in Europe, but not by Europe.
The Conservatives are the only mainstream political party that believes in an outward looking and open Europe, that does less, but does it better. In this respect, the Conservative Party offers a clear and strong voice, which is prepared to stand up for Britain, and the pound.
As the recent European election results clearly indicated, only the Conservatives are prepared to offer an open and honest debate, outlining the implications and consequences of UK membership of the Euro. The Conservative Party will build on our recent successes.
