YOUNG Pendle rockers Element - now thriving as a three-piece - want to provide a springboard for other bands by launching a monthly band night in Burnley.
The band, who lost bassist Warren Smith to work commitments last month, are set to launch a series of events dubbed Time Of The Month at the town's Comfort Inn.
The noisy three-piece have set up their own company called Fuzzy Bear Promotions to handle the events, the first of which is scheduled for early August.
They hope the nights, supported by Nelson-based Regent Records, will become an established fixture for music fans and want other local bands to take advantage of the chance to air their skills. Singer and guitarist Jay Stansfield told Pulse: "We think the area needs more places where young bands can get up and play.
"It isn't a money-making thing.
"The nights will be run by a band for other bands.
"The management at the Comfort Inn are really up for it and they want to make music one of their attractions."
Element look set to play the first event in the series themselves but are looking for as many bands as possible to get involved to make the nights a success.
Bands who are interested should contact Jay or his mum Linda on 01282 703765.
Meanwhile, Jay says Element have had renewed interest from the music industry.
They have had telephone calls from the management firm who look after The Stereophonics and an underground record company.
The band, who now have the advantage of CD-recording facilities, have recorded a demo of new material which is set for release soon.
